Ashley Henry

Ashley grew up in the Texas Hill Country just minutes from where Lucky Star Art Camp will take place.  She now works for a children’s summer camp on the Guadalupe River. When she’s not at work or hanging out with her precious family of 4, she is sitting on her living room floor surrounded by beads galore and the creativity starts to flow. Making jewelry is her hobby and is everything therapeutic to her; even with her 8 year old son Blake and 6 year old daughter Caroline running around! Her love for jewelry design came when she began working at a small boutique in Houston, Texas in her early 20’s. The moment she picked up a pair of wiring tools, she was hooked; no pun intended! Soon after moving back to the Hill Country, Ashley started selling her jewelry at a local boutique and knew it was time to start a business. Ashley makes custom, one of a kind necklaces, bracelets, and earrings.

You can find Art & Jules by Ashley jewelry for sale at Tome Boutique in downtown Kerrville, Texas or online at https://www.facebook.com/artjulesbyashley

: : : : : Wired Jewelry : : : : :

Class Description:

It’s a privilege for me to share the art of jewelry making with other like-minded enthusiasts. It gives me great joy to witness the smile on someone’s face when they’ve created their first piece of wired jewelry.

This class is for everyone!! Do you walk through boutiques and wish you could buy every piece you love? I definitely do, but once you learn to make your own jewelry, you can then walk through those cute shops and say, “I can make that!”  The joy you feel when you get a compliment on the piece you made is A-MAZING!!

I’ll focus on teaching you to wire link beads and how to fabricate your own findings like clasps, endings and chains. I’ll also be there to encourage you to rely on your own imagination and creativity and to think “outside the box” so your  jewelry will begin to reflect your own unique style!

Even if you know you’re not going to go home and buy a ton of wire and gemstones, we promise this class will be fun and you will leave with a necklace that you’ve made!!

Before Camp:  Go out and find that unique pendant you would love to have, one that you have buried in a box, or possibly your grandmother’s piece. If time allows, we hope to show you other wiring techniques to make earrings.

Class Offered: Half day [Dates and times coming soon!]

Materials List for Students:

  • 1 Spool of 24g round dead soft wire (silver or gold)
  • Pendant (if you want to do a necklace with it)
  • 2-3 strands of 6mm-8mm gemstones or Czech glass beads or any other type of bead. Just make sure the size of the hole is big enough for the wire.
  • 3 Basic wiring tools- Chain or Flat Nose Pliers, Round Nose Pliers and Flush Cutters (you can find these in little kits that are inexpensive)

Supply Fee:  $15 to Ashley if you would like to use her supplies during class.

How to Pay Supply Fee: In advance via PayPal to ashleyhenry1@gmail.com or in person during class

Included in Supply Fee:  We will have extra beads for you to use, if needed. If you do end up or plan on using them we will be asking for $15 fee.
