Class Descripton
Let’s fire up the blow torch and have some fun!! In this class, you will create a one-of-a-kind piece of art that doubles as a Lazy Susan. You can also bring a larger pine round and make an end table if you’d like… legs are easy to purchase later on Amazon.
We will burn our pine wood rounds and then stain the wood with Unicorn Spit. Unicorn Spit is a unique acrylic paint that can be diluted up to 90%. Colors can be mixed together to create just the color you want. You need to know nothing but what colors you want to use…I’ve got you in everything else! Scared of a blow torch? I’ll burn yours for you!
This will be the 3rd year I’ve taught this class at Lucky Star, but it’s been a few years since the last time and campers have been asking, so I’m excited to bring it back!
Materials to Bring
- Apron or paint clothes if you're messy
- PINE Round either 18"" or 24""... feel free to bring more than one if you're a fast worker! If you don't get it from Home Depot at the link below, please make sure whatever you get is PINE... it burns the prettiest (I feel like a pyromaniac saying that, loll)
- 18"" Pine Round
- 24"" Pine Round
Supply Fee Includes
- You bring your lovely self and I will bring the blow torch, propane, and a fire extinguisher... but we won't need it because we practice safety!
-
I will also bring... an electric drill, screwdrivers, spray bottles for water, water containers, and anything else we might need. Sealer not provided. I will show you the types of sealers you may use, however, sealing is best done at home so you don't smell the fumes in your car on your way home.** -
**If you are traveling by plane and want to take this class, you can ship your Pine Round to camp in advance, and then box up your project at the end of camp and we can mail it home for you. - Handout
