Class Descripton
In this class, we’ll discuss artist Charley Harper, who was a prolific commercial and fine artist from the 1950s all the way until into the 2000s when he died. We’ll take some lessons from the way he viewed nature and the style he called “minimal realism.” Students will be able to pick from three similar collage projects with varying difficulty levels. We will make either 1) an animal or nature collage for a wall 2) a standing collage- paper attached to a wood base- this one would look great on your coffee table! 3) a collage mobile- birds are a great choice for this one, but with all the talent at camp, I’m sure some crafters will come up with other great ideas, too.
