What if you could put all of your family’s names and everything dear to you – like favorite quotes, memories with your family, and what you enjoy doing together – all into one place – a work of art? Let’s create a family tree that’s MORE than a chart! Or a friends tree-with all your friends and memories together.
No experience needed, and nothing to bring. It’s all in your kit.
We’ll start with a pre-painted board. I’ll bring some tree outlines; find your favorite, trace it, and then use colored pencils staying within those lines to write your family’s story. We’ll then add colorful leaves and any extras you’d like – butterflies, bees, birds, maybe a pet sitting in the grass – using class-provided India ink markers, and you’ll take home everything you need to finish your piece with a layer of protective varnish. Detailed instructions will be provided. A Family Tree makes a cherished gift and a beautiful, meaningful personal work of art.
Supply Fee Includes
- 11""x14"" gessoed and pre-painted wood panel, professionally pre-wired so it's ready for hanging
- Yellow tracing paper
- Fine ball point pen for tracing
- Dark brown colored pencil for words
- 1-oz container of touch-up paint
- 0.25"" flat brush - for touch-up paint
- Blue masking tape for taping the wood sides of the board before applying isolation coat and varnish
- 1.5"" flat brush - for isolation coat and varnish
- 1-oz container of Golden soft gel, semi-gloss (isolation coat)
- 1-oz container of water-based Sher-clear varnish
- Shared use of Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pens and India Ink in a large variety of colors to be used in class for leaves and any other additions to your tree
