Class Descripton
This class is a great intro for curious campers looking to learn the basics of metalsmithing. No experience necessary!
Each camper will create a cut-out pattern pendant from sheet metal. This is a technique called PIERCING.
The project will allow campers to utilize the most essential techniques in metalsmithing and jewelry making – sawing, drilling, filing and polishing! These skills are the basics needed for most metalworking projects!
From traditional motifs to the more unusual – the pattern and overall design is up to you! Bring any inspiration images or sketches and I will help you find the best way to create it!
Unsure what to make? Jewelry templates and pattern inspiration will be provided.
Materials to Bring
- Paper and pencil to sketch your design
- Any inspiration images for your pendant design cut out pattern
- Optional Supplies: Brass or copper (included in kit/supply fee) are the suggested materials for beginners as sawing takes practice to achieve a refined design. However, if you would like to make a silver pendant you may bring your own sheet metal.
Kit Fee includes
- Jeweler’s Saw
