Class Description:
Creative problem solving and brainstorming: We use these terms all the time, but how do they actually work? There IS a process to problem solving and brainstorming, and this highly interactive workshop will equip you with the necessary theory, skills, and tools for tackling all types of challenges, in ways that are empowering, energizing, and fun!
In this class, we will cover the following through a series of both individual and group activities:
- What Creative Problem Solving is, and how it works.
- How to train yourself to be more generative (that is, come up with LOTS of ideas) using the Elements of Creativity.
- Mindset for Creativity: the mental framework necessary for effective creative problem solving.
- Framing your challenge for more productive brainstorming.
- Cognitive bias busting: getting past the instincts and biases that keep you maximizing your creative potential.
- Brainstorming toolbox: versatile exercises to generate stimulus to get you thinking beyond the obvious.
From this session, you’ll leave with a workbook and printed materials that recap everything we cover. But more importantly, you’ll leave with energy and confidence in your new problem-solving skills, so you can embrace – even be EXCITED – about the challenges that come your way, from “How might we motivate my family to keep the house clean?” to “How to pivot my career path?”
