Class Descripton
Marvel at the unique creations you can make through the simple acts of rolling, pressing, baking and painting. You can make beautiful ornaments, garden markers, coasters or gift tags – it’s your choice! Polymer clay is a versatile, easy-to-use, endlessly fun material. We’ll experiment with different tools and techniques for making a variety of designs. Treat yourself or make for a loved one. Just be warned, once you start, it will be hard to stop!
Added bonus: you likely already have many of the materials we’ll use in your kitchen drawers and cabinets. 🙂
Materials to Bring
- 1 lb. Sculpey clay
- Rolling pin or other cylindrical object that can be used as a rolling pin
- 1 quart size Ziplock bag
- 1 pair of chopsticks
- 1 toothpick
- Assorted cookie cutters
- Small cutting mat or placemat (clean and smooth with no texture)
- Parchment paper (2 sheets large enough to cover above mat)
- A few small bottles of acrylic paint
- Paintbrushes
- 1 small piece of fine grit sandpaper
- 1 small bottle of gloss or matte varnish (your choice)
- Several sprigs of fresh herbs (your choice)
- Assorted ribbon, yarn, or string
- Optional: stamps
