“Grief teaches us the depth of our love, and hope reminds us to shine our light forward—for ourselves, and for each other.” – anonymous

Thank you for all the love and prayers
Dear Lucky Star Family,
First and foremost, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the messages of love and concern over the past week. My family and I are safe, and our home was spared—but as many of you have seen, our beloved community of Hunt, Texas has been devastated by catastrophic flooding.
Many of our friends and neighbors have suffered tremendous loss. Several Lucky Star women and close friends were directly impacted, and I am so deeply grateful they are okay. But the road ahead for so many families here will be long and difficult and so much of our little hamlet is changed forever. My heart is heavy for all who are hurting.
I do have some reassuring news to share—I have spoken to Lori multiple times and Camp Waldemar is safe, and she has assured me that Lucky Star 2025 is still on for November. We are looking forward to the healing power of gathering once again on the banks of the Guadalupe, with even more appreciation for its beauty and resilience.
In the spirit of that same resilience, I’m working with a group of community leaders to establish the Hunt Community Relief and Restoration Fund that will directly support those affected in the Hunt community. We’re putting systems in place now to ensure that funds go where they’re needed most.
This community—both here in Hunt and across the Lucky Star Galaxy—is woven together with love, grit, and generosity. I’ve felt that in every message, every offer to help, and every prayer sent our way.
Thank you for being part of this community. I cannot tell you how much it means to me to know you are there, shining your light, thinking about us and praying for us. Please continue holding our little community in your hearts.
deepest love + heartfelt stardust,
Lisa
P. S. I’ve shared lots of links below to various ways to donate to people and places that are near and dear to my heart if you feel lead to do so. I’m still gathering links and will send an update with more as I get them.
P.S.S. I hope to create a memorial project this year at camp as our annual Creative Collective Commemorative Project.
