Say goodbye to boring and hello to bespoke as you customize your wardrobe using the art of needle felting. Discover how felting can not only repair holes and cover stains but can transform your sweaters, denim, flannel, and more into a canvas for self-expression. You’ll learn the art of needle felting and use your new skills to upgrade a garment with vibrant wool roving. Whether you adorn a sweater with a sweet monogram, a denim jacket with colorful polka dots, or a beanie with a tribute to your favorite food—the possibilities are endless!
Please bring with you a garment that you want to customize with needle felting. The felting you add will be permanent, so keep that in mind. This project works great on sweaters, beanies, knit gloves, denim, flannel, canvas tote bags, and more. Avoid t-shirts and sweatshirts.
Materials to Bring
- Bring a sweater or garment to personalize. Wool or acrylic sweaters will work and students have also had success felting onto knit beanies, gloves, flannel shirts, and denim. Felting can mend small holes and cover stains, so this is a great project to rescue an old sweater in need of an upgrade! The felting you add will be permanent, so keep that in mind when selecting a garment to personalize.
Supply Fee includes
- 3 Felting Needles (36T, 38T, 40T)
- 1 Foam Felting Mat (5x5”)
- Shared use of: Wool in Various Colors, Cookie Cutters in Various Shapes and Sizes, Scissors, Extra Felting Needles, Disappearing Ink Pens
