Class Descripton
Ever wondered why Andy Warhol was such a prolific artist? One word: Printmaking. We will explore a relief printing method, often called linocut, which utilizes a linoleum tile and a carving tool to create your own self-portrait. You will learn how to transfer your image onto the linoleum tile, cut out the negative space, and create a series of prints atop colorful patterned paper. Each patterned or solid paper will be created by you, too. Students will need to send 3 photo options to me before the start of class.
