Enamels: Ancient Art of Fusing Glass and Metal

Marvel at the beautiful array of color and light as we delve into the timeless craft of melting glass crystals on metal. A brief exploration of the history and the various techniques that have evolved over the last 3000 years will give us a scope of the breadth of this skill. We will spend the majority of our time creating original keepsake jewelry on copper by firing multiple layers of transparent and opaque glass using stencils, crackle glaze, graphite and pastels and sgraffito. Projects are suitable for beginners and a fun review for those with experience. Come prepared to experiment and be inspired by the exciting union of glass, metal and heat. We are only limited by the time we have together!
