Class Descripton
Welcome to “Welding Workshop: Planter or Trivet”!
In this beginner-friendly class, you’ll get hands-on experience with the art of welding—what I like to call “gluing metal together.” No prior experience is needed—just curiosity and a willingness to try something new!
We’ll start with the basics: each student will practice welding on a small piece of metal to get comfortable using a welder and understand the core techniques.
Once you’ve gotten the hang of it, you’ll choose between two projects: a custom metal trivet or a modern planter. I’ll provide pre-designed templates, and together we’ll cut, bend, and shape the metal to match your chosen design. When you’re happy with the layout, we’ll weld the pieces together to bring your creation to life.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with your very first welded metal piece and a beautiful, handmade trivet or planter to display proudly in your home.
Supply Fee Includes
- Welder and all consumables (wire, gas)
- Tools
- Protective gear (safety glasses, welding helmet, gloves, welding jacket)
- Metal to weld together to create your Planter/Trivet
Materials to Bring from Home
- For this class, I will be providing all of the materials. However, to participate in my class you must wear closed-toe shoes, long pants, and long sleeves. Jeans are preferred as well as non-cotton shirts however welding jackets will be provided. Clothes that you do not love are advised. Safety is a priority, so you cannot participate if you do not follow these clothing guidelines.
