Cami Boyett is a painter and graphic designer who is marrying her skills to build a brand new business creating art for giftware, stationery and textiles.
Cami began painting when she was just five years old while living in Acapulco, Mexico. The bright colors and exotic florals still appear in her wildly layered and textural paintings. She derives much of her graphic design and pattern work from her extensive collection of fine art. Her whimsical style begs the viewer to look beneath the surface to the subtle imperfections that tell the true story of messy beginnings and beautiful endings.
Her career as a print graphic designer began in the early 80’s in Houston, and she opened her own studio in 1996 when they built their family home in Magnolia.
In 2016, she and her husband added her dream Art Cottage, a spacious 550sf space filled with large windows, concrete floors and vintage storage and shelving — curated over many years in the fields of Round Top and estate sales across the area. Featured in “In Her Studio” Magazine, this space has become her creative haven, allowing her to spread out, make a mess and do all the things.
She offers studio workshops when she’s not working on a print deadline. And she is currently building a catalog of her pattern designs which are available for purchase and licensing. In 2023, she did a limited edition collaboration with Birkenstocks who featured two of her paintings on their sandals. There are still a few pairs left!
Her motto is never stop doing the things that light you up! {And if you can make money doing it, even better!}
“You’re not too old, and it’s not too late!”
