I’m Katy Hardin, a fine art painter and mixed media artist based in Salado, TX. I’ve always loved creating, and I first turned to painting as a way to quiet my anxious mind and find calm. Making art—especially the kind that involves getting messy—helped me embrace the freedom of intuitive brushstrokes and stay present in the moment.
My paintings are rooted in curiosity and a love of rich texture and color. Alongside painting, I’ve developed a deep passion for quilting, sewing, and collecting vintage textiles. Over time, textiles became an integral part of my process, and I began incorporating collage, stitching, and fabric into my artwork.
Today, I create pieces that tell stories through layers of color, texture, and composition. My goal is to make work that evokes emotion, sparks inspiration, and creates connection. I’m thrilled to share my love of textile art with students and to guide others in discovering the joy of mixing fabric, paint, and thread to create something uniquely their own.
